OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 17, 2013--
Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN), a premier transportation and
logistics provider, will host an Earth Day event Friday, April 19, at
the global headquarters in Omaha from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 12 p.m.,
Steve Phillips, senior vice president of operations, will speak at the
event regarding Werner’s continued focus on sustainability.
In addition, the event will showcase vehicles with alternative fuel
engines including a Werner CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) truck and
trailer and MUD’s (Metropolitan Utilities District) CNG Ford pickup.
There will be several educational booths hosted by energy conservation
specialists from MUD, OPPD (Omaha Public Power District), Millard
Sprinkler and Shred-It to inform associates of the latest ways to save
energy, conserve water and recycle. Experts from several Werner
departments will also be present to discuss “green” tips and
initiatives, and the Company will sponsor tree raffles and seed
giveaways.

Werner will also host an Earth Day event Saturday, April 20, from 11:30
a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zorinsky Park in Omaha. Members of Werner’s Blue
Brigade associate volunteer organization will participate in a community
beautification project that includes cleaning the park.
