Werner Enterprises Celebrates 60 Years of Keeping America Moving

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN), a premier transportation and logistics provider, is proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2016. The company, founded by C.L. Werner in 1956, hosted events Jan. 4 at terminal locations and Dedicated sites throughout the country to kick off the year-long celebration.

“I wanted to build a business that offered quality service and delivered value to our customers, all while creating career opportunities,” said C.L. Werner, founder, chairman and CEO. “That’s still my passion today, and I couldn’t be more pleased with where we are headed.”

Werner also took the opportunity to introduce the new decal package that will adorn all of the company’s new trucks and trailers. The updated branding is being applied to new trucks and new white trailers as they are added to the company’s fleet. Werner's truck age is expected to average less than 1.5 years by the end of 2016.

2016 marks additional significant milestones for the company, including 30 years of being publicly traded on Nasdaq and 10 years since the launch of Werner Global Logistics.
