Werner Enterprises Driver Named as ATA Road Team Captain

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2015-- Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN) professional driver David Green has been named to the 2015-2016 American Trucking Associations (ATA) America’s Road Team. Selected from 31 finalists who competed this week before a panel of judges near ATA’s Arlington, Virginia, headquarters, Green will serve as a captain with 18 other professional drivers.

A native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Green has driven with Werner since 1991 and served more than 20 years as a trainer. The U.S. Marine Corps veteran has achieved more than 2 million accident free miles, has served on Werner's Road Team and currently drives Freedom 2, one of five trucks in Werner’s military-themed truck and trailer fleet.

Founded in 1986 and sponsored by Volvo Trucks since 2002, America’s Road Team represents the country’s more than 3 million professional drivers and serves as an example of the dedication and teamwork needed to deliver America’s freight safely and on time.
